Prof. Haslenda Hashim

Prof Haslenda has an impressive list of high quality publications (more than 200 publications to date according to Scopus) that have attracted over 5200  citations with h-index of 35. Recently, she has received a recognition as World Top 2% Scientist according to 2020 ranking. Prof Haslenda has made several notable contributions to ASM since her appointment as Young Scientist Network (YSN-ASM) in 2015 and Associate Member ASM since 2017. She has been appointed as  co-chair of ASM Transboundary Haze study, (https://haze.akademisains.gov.my/index.php/publication-document-2/executive-summary) that lead to the formulation of Local and Transboundary Pollution Act feasibility study and provide a strategic input for setting the Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) Agenda for Hydrogen Economy. She successfully developed an innovative decision support tools for Sustainable Bioenergy Development Pathways for Malaysia to achieve 20% RE  by 2030 through the development of  BeWhere Malaysia in collaboration with  International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), https://dare.iiasa.ac.at/108/.

Prof Haslenda R&D endeavors also seem to have made an impact through her appointment as technical expert for ministry, authority and industry i.e. Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), Kementerian Alam Sekitar & Air (KASA), Kementerian Tenaga & Sumber Asli (KETSA), GreenTech Malaysia (MGTC),  Iskandar Region Development Authority (IRDA) and international body i.e. UN ESCAP, UNDP

She has been awarded with various grants at national and international level such as International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Science and Technology, Commission of Shanghai Municipality and UNDP.

Prof Haslenda has won many awards, internationally and locally, for her outstanding accomplishment, research discoveries and inventions i.e. 2020 Top Research Scientist Malaysia, US-Asean Science & Technology Fellowship (2018), 1Belt-1Road Young Scientist from Shanghai Municipality (2018), Korean Women Inventors Special Award (2013) and Renewable Energy Research Program Award from the National Science Council of Taiwan (2014).

Prof. Ismail Musirin

Professor Dr. Ismail Musirin has got 22 years of research experience in the field of Power System Engineering. He has received numerous research grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (MOHE) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia (MOSTI). Most of his researches dealt with the algorithms and techniques development in solving problems in Power System involving voltage stability, economic power dispatch, transient stability, distributed generation, renewable energy optimization, power system optimization and application of artificial intelligence in power system. With his vast experience in electrical engineering and artificial intelligence, he has been appointed as one of the research grant evaluators since seven years ago by the Minister of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE). He has also been opportunity to evaluate research grant at the international level. One of the most important recognition received b him is the opportunity given by the Ministry of Security, Kazaksthan to review a research proposal from the country. Besides, he has delivered speeches on research proposals at several universities in Malaysia.

A. Prof. M V Chilukuri

Chilukuri graduated with BEngg in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, MEngg in Power Systems and Automation from the Andhra University, India and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya. He was a Lecturer at Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Malaysia from 2001-12. He was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus from 2012 – 2015. He was a project consultant for Nottingham MyResearch on “Benchmarking Malaysian Data Centre Energy Efficiency” and prepared “Green Data Centre Road Map” to Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), Malaysia. He conducted a symposium on “Tropical Data Centre Energy Efficiency”, ALOFT Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, 14th Dec 2014 and Chaired the panel discussion. Since, May 2016 he is an Associate Professor of Power Systems and Smart Grid at the School of Electrical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology University, Vellore, India. He conducts research and consultancy in the field of Power Quality, Condition Monitoring, Time-Frequency Analysis, Smart Grid, Data Centre Energy Efficiency and Green ICT. He has published more than 50 papers and presentations at International Conferences and Journals. He has conducted a tutorial on “Intelligent Power Quality Analysis” at IEEE TENCON, Chiang Mai (2004), and at Instition of Engineers Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. He also conducted a workshop on “Time-frequency Signal Processing” at UKM (2004), Telekom Malaysia R & D (2004). He conducted a tutorial on “Smart Grid Communication Standards & Smart Metering” at IEEE International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN), Kuala Lumpur (2011). He is organizing committee member of IEEE ICSIPA2011, IEEE ICSIPA2009, IEEE PECON06, IEEE PECON03 and CIGRE C6 Study Committee Colloquium on “Rural Electrification for Socioeconomic Development” (2007). In addition, he was a member of "Asia Pacific Regional Conference and Exhibition on Power Quality" organized by CIRED Malaysia and member of MNC-CIGRE from 2005 – 2007. He is a member of IEEE PES & IAS Task Force on P1564 and UIE Working Group on Voltage Sag Indices. He was MyREN Green Technology Research Group Chair and MTSFB GREEN ICT Metrics & Measurements WG Leader from 2009-2012. He was MTSFB Green ICT Promotion and Awareness Vice-Chair, 2012- 15. He is a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, Industrial Application Society, Signal Processing and International Journal of Signal Processing of Elsevier. He was an invited speaker at Electricity Loss Reduction nd Theft Management held at Singalpore, 2-5 July 2018. He is also panel speaker for upcoming IEEE Technical Forum on Smart Grid for Smart Cities (IEEESG4SC) to be held at Energyville, Genk, Belgium, 26 – 28 Nov 2018. He chaired a technical session on “Power Quality in Smart Grid” at IEEE TENCON 2019, Kochi, India. Also, conducted two webinars to IEEE Smart Grid Society on “PQ in Smart Microgrid” & “ SSO/SSR detection, Modeling and Analysis in a Smart Grid”. Currently, he is working on consultancy project on “SPV Plant Duty Transformer Failure Analysis” to International Copper Assoiation.
